The first month of Q1 flew by, and for good reason: we have been hard at work to release a lot of new features and updates to our platform. So what’s new?

Community Tile: connect with members at any point

floq feature: community tile

On the society screen, you can now add a Community tile, making it easier for members of your organisation to connect. This tile displays a list of all users who have signed into the app and opted to be visible. From this list, users can view profiles and start private chats directly within the app.

Benefit: The community exists beyond the event! The society screen is for apps that support year-round engagement and host multiple events. The community tiles encourages users to connect with peers at all times.

Quick Access to Event Registration & Abstract Management

floq feature: abstract management and event registration button

Floq event management now has two new products: Abstract Management and Event Registration. Floq Studio (the backend) is updated with direct links to the products. You can now access them from the side menu in Floq Studio. Please note that these links are only available if you’ve purchased Event Registration and/or Abstract Management.

Benefit: Provides a smoother workflow by giving organisers easy access to registration and abstract submission directly from the Floq Studio. All data from event registration and abstract management  seamlessly integrates into the Studio and the event app.

Session Registration: Manage Attendee Capacity

floq feature: session registration

Attendees can now register for individual sessions directly from the app. Within any session, organisers can enable a “Registration required” toggle and choose between built-in or external registration. Additionally, you can set a session capacity limit. Once full, the app does not allow more registrations.

Users will see a “Registration required” label in the daily programme and a “Register” button on the session page. If a session has a capacity limit, the button will display the number of available spots. Once registered, the session is added to the attendee’s personal program.

Benefit:  If there are multiple parallel sessions going on, this is an excellent way to ensure that attendance is equally distributed among sessions. Furthermore, this greatly encourages timely registration and getting familiarised with the session program. In the Floq Studio, event organisers have a clear overview of the list of people that have registered and at what capacity the rooms are.

New Tag Filters: Find What You Need Faster

floq feature: filter tags

We’ve introduced tag filters for lists, now available on both mobile and web. Organisers can enable up to three tag types for filtering. These filters appear next to the search bar, allowing users to refine the list based on selected criteria. For example, attendees can filter a list of exhibitors by product group, or a list of posters by topic.

Benefit: Makes it easier for attendees to find relevant sessions, speakers, or other event content based on their preferences.

In summary, these new floq features are designed to make event management smoother and more efficient. From easy attendee connections with the Community Tile to better session management and enhanced filtering options, each update is crafted to improve both organizer and attendee experiences. Stay tuned for even more floq features to come!
